I got an e-mail today from a publisher that produces a newspaper here in Domino City, Weekly Domino News, saying they want to print the article that I wrote. They told me that they felt it was important that a first hand experience gets out there to debunk all the other stories and reports that are circulating.

From what I've heard and researched, most people within this city aren't taking the other reports seriously anyway, but I'm not worried about people outside the city not seeing the report. WDN will not only be publishing it in their physical release tomorrow, but they will be posting it online to their website, which also gets automatically linked in their social media accounts.
Social Media is a very powerful tool in order to get something out quick these days, so even if the physical newspaper is limited to mostly those within the city, the news online is available to everyone and can be shared incredibly easily though the likes of social media. That's how these false reports started circulating so easily in the first place. As long as people tweet, share and re-blog that report, a ton of people will see it.

... I hope it does spread. It just feels like a lot of problems will come from stuff going... uncontested.

I'm very confident that it will spread.

Domino City is an incredibly important city, being the dueling hub that it is. A lot of people from outside the city like to keep an eye on what's going on inside it and will do so via the website and social media.
Plus, the fact that it is a story that opposes the rest of the reports going around, some of which have been in some pretty major publications, it may cause quite the stir.

There's also the likelihood you'll be threatened with lawsuits and threats to your life.

If anyone actually does that, they're cowards.

All I'm doing is telling my story from an actual first hand perspective.

Coward or not, that's how it works.

Or you'll be derided for "Making it up"/"Being a Duel Spirit apologist", so on so forth.

If people don't want to believe me or my article, then it is what it is, but I wasn't going to let false information like that go by without countering it.

Oh I know.

This is just the kind of nonsense I know Judai and I have to deal with the Spirit Foundation and now SAI. Especially SAI.

Don't worry, I'm prepared to take whatever comes. It's all part of being a journalist too. Not everyone is going to like what you write, afterall.
